Why Vietnam? Why Da Nang?
Because Vietnam gave us a life that feels both practical and meaningful. Da Nang, in particular, gave us the rare mix of affordability, comfort, and quality of life that makes daily life easier while still feeling full of possibility.
Why Vietnam?
Vietnam works for us because it fits the way we want to live. We can earn in stronger currency and spend in Vietnamese currency, which stretches our resources without forcing us to live a life that feels small. Just as important, Vietnam has a rhythm that is simple, grounded, and human. For a couple building a new chapter, that matters as much as the numbers.
For our family, Vietnam is also personal. My wife’s story is tied to this country in a deep way: she was born in Saigon in 1974, and her family fled as boat refugees in 1978. So living here is not just a relocation decision; it is also a reconnection with part of her story.
Why Da Nang?
Da Nang stood out because it offers the best balance. It is a real city, but not an overwhelming one. It has beaches, good food, growing expat energy, and enough modern convenience to make life easy, while still staying relaxed and approachable. That combination is rare.
It also fits our lifestyle. We like walking, pickleball, exploring neighborhoods, meeting people, and building community, and Da Nang makes all of that easy. For us, it is not just a place to live. It is a place to create, connect, and build something of value.
Simply put…
If someone asks us “Why Vietnam? Why Da Nang?” the short answer is this: Vietnam gave us freedom, value, and meaning, and Da Nang gave us the right setting to enjoy all three. It feels like a place where life is still simple enough to breathe, but rich enough to grow
